🌞 Doubling Down on Solar: Atlantic Coated Papers Grows Its Green Footprint

ACP Solar

At Atlantic Coated Papers, sustainability isn’t just a goal — it’s part of our DNA. We’re proud to announce a major step forward in our ongoing environmental journey: the successful installation of a 997 kWh solar energy system, comprised of 1,634 roof-mounted panels, on top of our Whitby production facility.

This innovative solar array is more than just a powerful visual statement — it’s a practical investment in a cleaner future. The system is projected to reduce the plant’s overall electricity use by 16.5% each year, significantly lowering our carbon footprint while improving energy efficiency across operations.

Why Solar? Why Now?

As a manufacturer, we understand the importance of managing energy responsibly. With this solar installation, we’re not only reducing our reliance on traditional electricity sources, but also reinforcing our commitment to a more sustainable manufacturing model — one that supports our customers, our community, and our planet.

A Commitment in Action

This project represents one of the largest sustainability upgrades to our facility to date. By harnessing the power of the sun, we’re taking meaningful action toward our long-term goals — reducing emissions, lowering energy costs, and setting a benchmark for greener practices in our industry.

We believe manufacturing can and should be part of the solution. And with solar power now helping drive our Whitby plant, we’re proud to lead the way.

Stay tuned as we continue to explore new ways to innovate sustainably and invest in a better tomorrow.
