Founded in 2000, Atlantic Coated Papers (ACP) offers the most cost-effective extrusion coated and extrusion laminated custom solutions for clients throughout North America. The experience, tenacity and focus of our associates is what sets us apart.
To ensure uncompromised quality and unquestionable value, ACP focuses on delivering North American made solutions with components from suppliers in our local and extended Canadian and American ecosystem. Our history of partnership with the pulp and paper industry in Canada and the United States has exposed us to the positive impact of buying local in smaller communities.
In recognition of our commitment to building strong, long-term customer engagements as trusted, ethical partners, ACP received the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Award in 2017, 2018, 2019 and Gold Standard winner in 2020 from Deloitte and CIBC. We continue to work with our new and existing partners for mutual success and growth year over year.

Quebec production facility
In the picturesque village of Windsor, Quebec just beside the Saint-Francois river, our 100,000 square foot facility is an integral regional employer. This Quebec facility has a rich history. Beginning in 1934, the structure was a Domtar mill and it remained under this operation until 1976 when it was acquired by Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd. In 2000, ACP purchased the facility and now we’re making our own history. Inside, we’ve transformed the space into a contemporary factory site, which includes a new fitness area, employee facilities and offices. Handling most client applications, our union production and core production teams each have an average tenure of 15 years.
Ontario production facility
Directly off the 401 highway in beautiful Whitby, Ontario sits our 50,000 square foot head office and factory site. Featuring modern offices, a fitness facility, and a completely retrofitted bright, clean workshop environment, this site also has 5 additional acres for future growth and expansion. Operating a 112” extrusion coating line, various rewinders, slitters and printers, this site is fully capable of handling most client applications. The average facility tenure of our production team members is 15 years.
Working to reduce our carbon footprint
At ACP, we have the utmost respect for our environment. At our Whitby facility, in 2017 we became a program recipient with CME Green for the installation of a solar heating wall. In 2020 we’ve completed installation of our roof top solar panel system that is expected to generate nearly 10% of the energy needed to power our Whitby facility.
Our zero waste program is an initiative that diverts 95% of our waste to recycling and recovery, and we’re working towards a 2020 mid-year target of zero landfills in Whitby.
Atlantic Coated Papers values the effort put forward by every employee and the tremendous support of their families. In an effort to give back to the extended ACP community, an academic scholarship program has been created to nurture the next generation of thought leaders and ensure a successful start to their careers. The ACP scholarship program is open to the children of full-time ACP Employees.

At either of our facilities, our team is always ready to host a visit – even on short notice or for an audit as needed. With newly updated equipment that operates in clean, open workspaces, ACP fosters an environment of success that we love to show our guests.
Visiting our Whitby facility? You’ll have an opportunity to see our 112” extrusion coater, 98” rewind/slitters and our 12-color presses in operation. Our Windsor facility impresses guests with its traditional riverside mill architecture on the exterior, and on the interior, there is a complete HAACP site with a 60” lamination and coating machine coupled to a slitter/rewinder, along with a 6-color press and an 96” extrusion-lamination / extrusion coater coupled to a 99” rewinder. Not to mention the fact that visitors are impressed with our ownership of one of the few remaining asphalt duplex laminators in North America.
